- Venue is in middle of Achiltibuie, past The Summer Isles Hotel and opposite the school as approaching from Ullapool direction. Car park at venue.
- Built 1999 as Community Centre with library & medical centre.
- Capacity up to 200 if staging used, approx 100 if performing on floor. Plastic, stacking, non-interlocking chairs.
- Mobile reception limited and not all networks. Payphone in foyer (01854 622268). Hall has Wi-Fi.
- Achiltibuie has General Store, hotel & petrol. Banks & cashpoints and other services at Ullapool (26 miles).
Hall Details
- Hall Dimensions: 17.2M (56’5”) long x 9.46M (31’) wide. Height at side walls 3.07M (10’1”) rising to 6.56M (21’6”) at apex. 6 ‘Glu-lam’ roof supports reduce height at these points.
- Staging available: 63 units of 0.75Msq Topdeck rostra @ 0.3M, 0.5M & 0.75M heights available. Can make 6M sq stage. Crossover through back storerooms. Access treads available.
- Décor: floor light wood laminate with Badminton Court markings, walls & roof wood clad with white acoustic panels.
- Get-in: through hall fire exit from car park, straight, flat, single door. Approx 10M from van loading area to stage. 0.8M (2’7”) wide x 2.04M (6’8”) high. Alternative (longer) through hall foyer, 3 sets double doors 1.63M (5’4”) wide x 2M (6’7”) high.
- Acoustics excellent – hall has been acoustically treated.
- Blackout good, all windows have blinds
- Heating by underfloor system.
- No piano. 2 smoke detectors in hall, possible to isolate if arranged.
- Access equipment not seen, but assumed that stepladder exists.
Technical
- Power: 100amp 3-phase incomer located in hall office. 2 x 63amp single-phase sockets in office but these come off a single 32amp breaker.
- Portable stage lighting rig Zero88 Alcora 12 channel desk, 2 Betapack dimmers, 2 wind-up stands, 2 x 575w profile spots, 6 x 650w fresnels, 1 x 500w flood & cabling.
- Small PA system, Peavey 12-2-2 powered mixer & effects processor, 2 x Peavey CL-2 speakers, CD player, selection of mics, stands & cables.
- Houselights are dimmable down-lighters controlled from hall office or switched sodium’s, switches in hall entrance.
Backstage
- Storeroom behind stage area can be used as dressing room.
- Kitchen available
- No separate toilets. Showers available.
