- Venue is in middle of High School, north of village centre at end of School Road, beyond fire station – well signposted off A861, turning by bridge. Car park at school.
- Built 2002 as part of Ardnamurchan High School.
- Capacity 180 padded seats on retractable bleacher rake & 20 chairs on flat.
- Mobile reception limited. Payphone in village (5 mins walk).
- Strontian has hotels, general store, cafes and cashpoint. Petrol, Banks and other services at Fort William, via Corran Ferry (22miles).
Hall Details
- Stage: 11.95M (39’2”) width x 6.2M (20’4”) deep. Height to grid 6.4M (21’). Wing width variable – created by FOH tabs. Crossover through back corridor. Staging rostra available – 18 units of 2M x 1M aluminium framed deck @ 0.5M high – makes a stage of 6M sq or 8M x 4M. Access treads available.
- Décor: floor light wood laminate; walls peach colour; roof white. Stage has back blacks, legs, borders & FOH tabs.
- Get-in: at rear of school, flat, through 4 sets double doors with right angle turn into theatre space. Approx 25M from van loading area to stage. 1.52M (5’) wide x 2.03M (6’8”) high.
- Acoustics reasonable.
- Blackout good – windows have blinds operated from DSL corner (but emergency exit lights are bright).
- Heating by underfloor system.
- No piano seen. School has smoke detectors throughout – possible to isolate but needs arranging with school janitor.
- No detail of access equipment but a mobile access platform is assumed to exist.
Technical
- Power: 63amp 3-phase sockets at back of stage on both sides.
- Full stage lighting rig – Zero88 24 channel Frog desk, 24 x Chilli dimmers hard wired, FOH & 2 stage LX bars & 4 dip circuits. 12 x 650w profile spots, 16 x 650w fresnels, 6 x 650w PC’s.
- Theatre PA system – Soundcraft Folio FX16 mixer (16 channels), graphic EQ, JBL Eon 15P self-powered speakers & cinema speaker system, CD & mini-disc players, 12 send/4 return multicore, 4 SM58 & 2 SM57 mics, stands & 4 Sennheiser radio mics. Comms sets available.
- Sanyo MX3500 Projector & DVD player with electric 6M x 5M screen
- Houselights are switched wall lights or overhead sodium’s. Switches in DSR corner & control room.
Backstage
- 3 changing rooms can be used as dressing rooms.
- School kitchen – use by arrangement.
- Separate backstage toilets.
