  • Venue is on right hand side of main A832 road as entering Cromarty, just past recreation ground, on High St. Car parking on street.
  • Built in 1887 as a Drill Hall and extended at rear more recently.
  • Capacity 200 if stage used, up to 150 if performing on floor. Padded, stacking, non-interlocking chairs.
  • Mobile reception reasonable
  • Cromarty has general store & no charge cashpoint, Post Office, hotels, cafes. Bank at Fortrose (10 miles), petrol at Tore (19 miles). All other services at Dingwall or Inverness (26 miles).

Hall Details

  • Hall Dimensions: 8.4M (27’6) wide x 18M (59’) long. Height at side walls 4.5M (14’9”) rising to approx 6M (20’) at apex. (All measurements are approximate & taken from venue website).
  • Stage: 5.5M (18’1”) wide x 6.3M (20’8”) deep. Height of proscenium 2.9M (9’6”), height of stage 1.05M (3’6”). Wings 1.45M (4’9”) both sides. Crossover behind back drape or through back corridors. Access treads both sides off front of stage. Stage has set of black legs, borders and back drapes. (All measurements are approximate & taken from venue website).
  • Décor: floor, old polished wood with Badminton Court markings; walls light grey lower, white upper, roof white. FOH tabs maroon red.
  • Get-in: through hall FOH foyer, 2 sets double doors & right angle turn, flat. Approx 25M from van loading area to stage. (No dimensions available).
  • Acoustics good – acoustic panels installed.
  • Blackout reasonable – all windows have blinds.
  • Heating by radiators.
  • No piano. Smoke detectors – situation unknown.
  • Access equipment not seen.


  • Power: 100amp 3-phase incomer located in cupboard on up stage right. 2 x 32amp single-phase sockets – 1 each side of stage.
  • Small stage lighting rig – control unknown 2 6 channel dimmer packs, 4 profile spots, 4 fresnels. Overhead lighting bars on stage.
  • No sound equipment but can be arranged by request.
  • Houselights are switched fluorescents, switched at hall entrance.


  • Meeting room backstage can be used as dressing room.
  • Kitchen available.
  • Separate backstage toilets.
