Address: Main St, Gartmore, Stirlingshire FK8 3RW
– Venue is on Main Street in village centre (R.H.S. as going up the
hill from South) and is in village square next to Black Bull Hotel.
Limited parking at venue.
– Built 1847 as Free Church, converted to Hall in 1936 with
additions built 1994 and substantially refurbished in 2014.
– Capacity up to 200 if stage used for performing. If performing on
floor then 100+ possible. Interlocking padded folding chairs.
– Mobile reception good.
– Shop and Hotel in village. Banks, cash-points, petrol and other
services in Aberfoyle (3 miles).
Hall Details (details from 2010 visit – assumed to be no significant changes to dimensions below since 2014 refurbishment)
– Hall Dimensions: 10.66M (34’ 11”) wide x 14.87M (48’ 9”) long.
Height of walls at side 4.45M (14’7”) rising to 5M(16’5”) over central 5M wide area.
– Stage: Pros arch 6.6M (21’ 8”) wide, max stage depth 3.69M (12’1”) but reduced to 3.1M (10’2”) at SR & SL pros. Pros height 2.67M (8’9”). Height to ceiling upstage of pros 5.54M (18’ 2”). Height of stage 0.76M (2’6’). Wings SL 0.76M (2’6”), SR 0.6M (2’). Crossover through back corridor. Access treads at rear of stage – both sides. Stage can be extended with additional home-made rostra.
– Décor: floor wood laminate no markings, walls pink/cream lower, upper & ceiling white. Stage FOH tabs maroon red.
– Get-in: through fire exit, single door, straight, flat. Approx 15M from van loading area to stage. 0.76M (2’6”) wide x 1.96M (6’5”) high.
– Acoustics good.
– Blackout reasonable (all windows have lined curtains)
– Heating by underfloor system.
– Upright piano available. Smoke detectors (unknown)
– A-frame steps available.
Technical
– Power: 100A 3-phase incomer located at back of hall with hall
socket distribution panel in locked cupboards underneath.
– No Stage Lighting.
– Small PA system, wall mounted speakers, no other details.
– House Lights are downlighters or wall up-lighters (control location
unknown).
Backstage
– Lesser Hall and upstairs room available for dressing rooms, green
room behind stage.
– Kitchen available
– No separate toilets.
