– Venue (has clock tower) is in town centre at north end of High St

& Market Place. Small car park (metered) at rear of hall or on-street parking.

Venue has hall-keeper.

• Built 1862/3.
• Capacity 494, including 135 padded fixed seats in balcony. Folding, padded, interlocking chairs.
• Mobile reception good, payphone in foyer.
• Inverurie has all services.

Hall Details

– Hall Dimensions: 18.8M (61’8”) long with curved balcony overhang 4.6M (15’1”) – 5.6M (18’4”) deep, 11.9M (39’) wide. Height at side walls approx 5.5M (18”) rising to 7M (23’) in centre – roof curved at sides.

• Stage: slight rake (1:30), proscenium opening 7.12M (23’4”) wide x 4.95M (16’3”) height, stage border at 3.6M (11’10”) height, stage depth 6.22M (20’5”). Wings 2.6M (8’6”) both sides, No proper crossover, 8-step access treads in corridors stage right and left. Stage has flying grid with 13 hemp sets & full set of blacks.
• Décor: floor light wood, no markings; walls and roof light green with white mouldings; maroon curtains on windows. Stage has maroon FOH tabs.
• Get-in: via rear fire exit, up 1 step, 1 set double doors then up 6 steps and straight through double doors into hall or right angle turn up 8 steps and double doors onto stage 1.3M (4’3”) wide x 2M (6’6”) high. Approx 20M from van loading area to stage.
• Acoustics good.
• Blackout good – all windows have lined curtains.
• Heating by radiators.
• Upright piano on stage and grand piano stored under stage. No smoke detectors.
• Large A-frame steps available.

Technical

• Power: 3-phase 63amp supply in stage left corner. Hall has no 13amp sockets but 13amp sockets exist on balcony. Stage has 4 twin 13a sockets on proscenium arch.
• Full stage lighting rig – Strand MX48 desk, 48 non-patchable dimmers (likely upgraded since 2003), full set of lanterns, 2 FOH LX perches, 3 stage LX bars. Operated from control room off balcony.
• PA system available (not seen). FOH mounted speakers and on-stage speakers.
• Houselights are dimmable roof lights, controlled from stage left wing.

Backstage

• 2 dressing rooms behind stage with separate toilets.
• Kitchen available.
• Bar area at back of hall and refreshments can be arranged.
