General Information

Address: Findochty Town Hall, 22 Station Road, Findochty, Buckie, Morayshire AB56 4PN

Name of village is pronounced ‘Finnechty’.

– Venue is in middle of village on right hand side of Station Road,

as going up the hill from the harbour. Car park at venue.

Built as Masonic Lodge 1925 and converted to Town Hall in 1946, adopted by community in 2022.
Capacity approx 120 if stage used, 70 if performing on floor. Padded stacking chairs.
Mobile reception good.
Findochty has a pub, general store along road from hall, farm shop nearby. Nearest other services in Buckie (3 miles).

Hall Details

– Hall Dimensions: 7.67M (25’2”) wide x 15.2M (49’10”) long.

Height at side walls 3.18M (10’5”) rising to 4.59M (15’1”) over

centre.

Stage: 4.58M (15’) wide x 4.5M (14’9”) deep. Height to proscenium 2.79M (15’2”). Wings 1.53M (5’) both sides, height of stage 0.79M (2’7”). Crossover behind stage down 5 steps each side, no access treads at front.
Décor: white walls and roof, floor light wood (tongue & groove) no markings. FOH tabs blue, windows have white roller blinds.
Get-in: through side exit single door, and right turn through single door into hall. Flat into hall. 5M from van loading area to stage. Approx 1.96M (6’5”) high x 0.76M (2’6”) wide. Max turning circle for 2D objects 2.44M (8’).
Acoustics good.
Blackout reasonable but need ladder to get to blackout blinds on 2 sky lights.
Heating by radiators.
No Piano. Smoke detectors in hall and above stage. Possible to isolate via control panel.
No access equipment seen.

Technical

Power: assumed to be 100amp single phase incomer in locked cupboard at back of hall. 3 x twin 13a sockets on each side of hall and 1 twin socket each side of stage.
No stage lighting
Sound – 2 small domestic speakers for playback sound only.
Houselights are switched fluorescents, switches by side entrance to hall.
